Opening for KISS....Rush
Great concert. I had all 3 KISS albums at the time, and both Rush albums. This was the Alive tour.
I was a 19 year-old Army soldier home on leave.
3 weeks earlier I met Gene Simmons at McCarren Airport in Vegas. We talked for about 10 minutes. Still my biggest thrill ever! He told me they would be playing San Diego in a few weeks and to be sure to come see the show. He also told me that they hardly ever got recognized when they traveled because they didn’t wear the makeup. I told him I would recognize him anywhere in the 7 inch green snakeskin wedgie style platforms he was wearing!
It was the first of many KISS concerts for me, but still my very favorite show.
